چکیده
Introduction: Our study focused on the evaluation of renal function in children with sickle cell disease compared to without at pediatric emergency unit Donka National Hospital and SOS Drepano-Guinea center. Patients Methods: This was a cross-sectional descriptive analytical lasting 3 months (October 1 December 31, 2020). Were included, all non-sickle aged 0 15 received an outpatient basis had undergone exploration (serum creatinine urine dipstick). Results: We performed dipstick serum 75 children, 45 whom were 30 not cell. 27 our patients or 36% reduction GFR, among them 9 20% 18 60% The most affected age group 5 years (66.7%) (38.9%). In patients, cases (100%) mild failure (IRL). Non-sickle 14 77.8% IRL 4 (22.2%) moderate IR. Sickle antibiotics which respective p-value (0.01); (0.02), statistically significant onset failure. Conclusion: Several factors including anemia are believed be involved lowering GFR. It would essential detect early consultation.

Abstract Background Prevalence of hereditary blood diseases such as sickle cell anemia, sickle thalassemia and thalassemia major are high in Khuzestan province. Sickle cell anemia and beta-thalassemia are predominantly common in Iranian Arabs. In patients with sickle cell disease, thrombotic microangiopathy is a rare complication. Also in sickle cell disease, intracardiac thrombus formation without structural heart diseases or atrial arrhythmias is a rare phenomenon. We herein describe a 22-year-old woman, who was a known case of sickle cell-βthalassemia, had a history of recent missed abortion, and was admitted with a vaso-occlusive...

Background: Hemoglobin S arises is the result of a point mutation (A-T) in the sixth codon on the -globin gene on chromosome 11 causing sickle cell anemia. The presence of fetal hemoglobin in infancy plays a relatively protective role for vaso-occlusive symptoms that are the major contributor for the morbidity and mortality among patients with sickle cell anemia. hydroxyurea, an s-phase-specif...

Background Sickle cell patients suffer from many physical, psychological, and social problems that can affect their quality of life. To deal with this chronic condition and manage their disease and prevent complications associated with the disease, they must learn skills and behaviours. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of self-management programs on quality of life in t...
متن کاملGlomerular filtration rate is altered in children with sickle cell disease: a comparison between Hb SS and Hb SC
BACKGROUND Renal failure is common among older patients with sickle cell disease; this is preceded by subclinical glomerular hyperfiltration. Data about renal function of adults with sickle cell disease have been reported, but data on children is scarce, especially when comparing heterozygotic and homozygotic patients. OBJECTIVE The goal of this study was to investigate the glomerular filtrat...
